...The performance began as, for half an hour while the audience gathered, the same melody of "Kahovka" was playing endlessly. On stage there was a monster in a mask created by the artist I. Kochkaryov. This mask then continued on in almost all of our performances. [...] The theater actually moved into a territory that more habitually belongs to the artist. After all, the artist, composing his hero, transports him from one environment to another, from one environment to a third, etc., while the theater, on the contrary, constantly parts with itself until it disappears altogether....
