Four performances of Boris Yukhananov and Dmitri Kourliandski’s opera Octavia. Trepanation were held in the Italian city of Vicenza on the stage of Teatro Olimpico from October 5 to 8. (The premiere took place in June 2017 at the Holland festival.) The unique architecture of the theatre that was built by Andrea Palladio in the 16th century made these performances particularly unique. For this second set of performances the enormous head of Lenin rose up against the background of columns and facades that were erected by Palladio as part of the interior of the theater.

The Vicenza performances continue the world tour of Octavia. Trepanation which began in June this year in Amsterdam.
